Dr Rajaratnam's professional journey began at the University of Birmingham Medical School, where she earned First Class Honours for her intercalated BSc in Pathology. She completed her specialist dermatology training in the UK through the West Midlands Deanery, earning prestigious awards such as the Roy Summerley and Douglas Oakley Prizes. Following a successful career in the United Kingdom, she spent 10 years as a consultant at Changi General Hospital (CGH) in Singapore before joining Shine Dermatology.
Her dedication to patient well-being has been recognized with multiple Singapore Health Quality Service Awards, including Gold Awards in 2022 and 2024, reflecting her exceptional standard of care.

- General Dermatology: She is highly skilled in managing a wide range of common and complex skin conditions, from acne, eczema, and psoriasis to more challenging autoimmune diseases and hair loss. At CGH, she led the eczema clinic, specializing in the care of patients with severe, treatment-resistant conditions.
- Skin Cancer & Mole Checks: With significant experience from a major UK skin cancer center, Dr Rajaratnam excels in the diagnosis and management of skin cancers, including melanoma. She performs minor surgical procedures with an emphasis on precision, safety, and optimal cosmetic outcomes.
- Laser & Aesthetic Dermatology: Dr Rajaratnam has advanced fellowship training in cutaneous laser medicine and surgery from the University of Ottawa, Canada. She expertly uses a variety of laser technologies for conditions such as vascular and pigmented lesions, scarring, and rejuvenation. Her aesthetic approach is a blend of clinical expertise and a philosophy that favors subtle, natural-looking results.
A Passion for Education & Research
A passionate educator, Dr Rajaratnam has a long history of training and mentoring future dermatologists. She has served as an examiner for the National University of Singapore's medical program and as Associate Programme Director for the national Dermatology Residency Programme. She is also a dedicated clinical researcher, having served as an investigator in clinical trials for emerging treatments. She has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles and presented her work at numerous international conferences, ensuring her practice remains at the forefront of dermatological science.
